Thirty Years of History

King of Peace weekly worship services began with a group of 12, and have grown to a weekly worshiping body of 400 or more.

The church purchased our current home, the Fifth Ave. Cinema building, in 1990. The former theater had fallen into a state of major disrepair. A team of volunteers pulled out moldy theater seats and kicked off two years of major renovation and construction. The building now houses King of Peace MCC and the local offices of Equality Florida.

Rev. Elder John Gill arrived at King of Peace in 1995, and held the position of Senior Pastor until March of 2006. Rev. Lorraine Brock, Director of Worship and Congregational Life, and Jaye Sheldon, Director of Music joined our staff in 2005.

A vibrant worship experience, social activities and music, congregational care, outreach and education programs continue to serve as the foundation of King of Peace life.
